Caledonian MacBrayne – Internal Signage

Brief: Caledonian MacBrayne is the operator of ferry services to Scotland’s Hebridean and Clyde islands and in May 2011, MV Finlaggan, the latest addition to its fleet was introduced to the Kennacraig – Islay route. We were briefed to create a concept for internal passenger information panels and signage, to complement the on board service information leaflets that we’ve created for the CalMac fleet.

Creative: Using the distinctive black and red colours of Caledonian MacBrayne, we’ve developed a concept whereby these colours are integrated into the signage header panel, with the remainder of the panel area being used for overlaying deck plans, menu details etc. Clarity of messaging and ease of use is essential as these panels provide passenger information in English and Gaelic.

Result: Client feedback has been excellent and passengers are actively using the on board services leaflets and information panels.

The Death of Direct Mail?
